Workshops

Every year, the Spring Wing Ding celebration features some fun and educational programs for the young and old alike.

Cliff Heftie deminstrates how to write with a quill in one of the many workshops held at the Spring Wing Ding.

Knot Hole Gang Workshops

This program designed for children in grades 4-6 includes a field trip hosted Mark Humpert of the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission.  This workshop is usually presented right after school, so that many children can experience the water fowl migration and lagoon ecosystem.

One of the highlights of the kids workshop is always looking at the many geese through the telescope at the Massey Lagoon Lookout.

Workshops that will appeal to young and old alike

Saturday morning workshops are presented at the Clay Center High School and will appeal to both the young and old.  These free workshops offer the participant hands on experience that they can't get anywhere else.

Cliff Heftie uses a live duck in his workshop "Birds are Special"
Betsy Hancock demonstrates how to check the leg band on a falcon to participants in her workshop.  The Spring Wing Ding was privileged to participant in a release after a successful recovery and rehabilitation
