Enhancing the Migration Experience

One of the primary purposes of the Spring Wing Ding is to help protect and preserve the habitat of migrating water fowl, while providing environmental education and outdoor recreation to people of all ages.  Funds raised during the Spring Wing Ding have been invested in many projects that allow people to enjoy the natural wonder of the spring and fall migration.

One of the first projects undertaken was to build a look out over Masseys Lagoon.  This lookout gives the public an easy way to observe migrating water fowl with out disturbing them.
Many small projects have been undertaken to help preserve and protect various species of migrating birds.

A kiosk along Hiway 14 will educate travelers about the importance of the lagoons in South Central Nebraska to the lives of the migrating water fowl.
